There is a gap in the market for devices that eliminate waste at its root cause, instead, the issue is ignored. Instead of removing product, many devices just clean bottles/containers. There is a range of sizes, but none that work for all sizes.
There are devices that remove product, but none that address ergonomics, different container sizes, and remove the maximum amount of product all at the same time
Opportunity: A compact, neutral sized paddle type of scrapper that removes excess product and works for all sizes of containers.

To test ergonomics of the handle, I had people with varying hand sizes try different models and ended up choosing a form that was uniform as to add in the turning motion of the handle.
I split the model into 3 pieces to aid in the simplicity of the assembly process. Instead of molding the handle out of clay, I 3D printed it and coated it in plasti-dip. I then only had to add the telescoping pole (made from an antenna) and the silicone casted scraper. I 3d printed many iterations of the molds for the paddle, and ultimately landed on one that thinned at the edges, had a small well in the center, and tapered to attach to the handle I was able to simplify the casting process by connecting the two molds and casting the scraper all in one piece instead of having to assemble it separately.Comments from Intended Customer:

Enjoyed the telescoping as they could see themselves using it for a variety of bottles and containers

This project pushed me to create something tailored completely towards a cause I had not explored in the past. My research skills improved immensely through this process and I learned new software and CAD skills along the way. Overall, I impressed myself with my model fidelity and overall investment in this project and will work to apply those skills as I continue my degree.
